Content - block by block
Riddle features 13 different types of content blocks.
- Go to CREATE.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Blocks section on the left.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Select one of the 13 blocks in the dropdown list.
- To make a block required to proceed to the next question, click on the Options icon and enable Disable skip button.
- To move the block to another position in the Riddle, click, drag, and drop the block.
1. Single-choice question block (all formats)
Your audience picks one answer from a list of choices.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Single choice.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers.
The first answer is correct by default. You can change this by changing the order.
To change the order, click and drag the 6 dots on the left of the answer field to move the answers up or down.
2. Multiple-choice question block (all formats)
Your audience can pick more than one answer.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Multiple-choice.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers. Add as many answers as you want by clicking on Add an answer.
- The first answer is correct by default. You can change this by changing the order.
MORE CORRECT ANSWERS:
Click on the cross in the circle on the right of the answer field. A tick appears in a green circle. Now the answer is marked as correct.
CHANGE THE ORDER:
Click and drag the 6 dots on the left of the answer field to move the answers up or down.
NO WRONG ANSWERS:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content. The default is that there are right and activate Not case-sensitive by clicking on the grey button. Activate Ignore space by clicking on the grey button.
SCORING:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
The default is 1 point per question.
Adjust as you want and change the score to per answer by clicking on the arrow on the right of Question and selecting Answer.
You can then adjust the numbers in the Answer content field.
3. Title / freestyle block (all formats)
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Title / freestyle.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Insert an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
4. Quote block (all formats)
You can enter important quotations or statistical data, adding another way to intrigue and inform your audience. Use the quote block with our branching logic to provide additional information or context for users who get a question wrong.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Quote.
- Insert a text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Add another image, the quote text and the author in the Content section fields.
5. Ad block (all formats)
Insert your own ads in your Riddles, a powerful way to monetize your quizzes.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Ad block.
- Insert a text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Add a URL and height to the Ad content section fields.
DYNAMIC DISPLAY:
Display ads from your ad server.
SKIP:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Click on the blue/grey button to activate/deactivate the skip button.
Delay the skip button by clicking on the grey button next to Delay skip button.
Then type in the delay you want in seconds.
6. Text-input (quiz and poll / survey)
Users write their own answer to your question in a free text box, which replaces the answer buttons.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Text-input.
- Insert a text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers.
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Activate Not case-sensitive by clicking on the grey button.
Activate Ignore space by clicking on the grey button.
7. Order it block (quiz and poll / survey)
Users have to put the answers in the correct order (e.g. 'Rank these players from lowest to highest scoring.') or order of their choice (e.g. 'Tell us what the best to worst workplace benefits are for employees.').
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Order-it block.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers.
RANK:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Activate Rank order by clicking on the grey button. Select a format and order.
OTHER OPTIONS:
Activate Show 'correct order' button and Shuffle answers by clicking on the grey buttons.
LAYOUT:
Go to Layout type where you can change between the Stack and Row.
8. Tap and find block (quiz)
The answers are displayed as hotspots directly in the question image. Users tap the image to find the answers and a green circle appears when a correct point is found.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Tap and find.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Insert an image into the Image field.
A circular hotspot will appear which you can click and drag to the right place for a correct answer. - You can click on Add a hotspot and repeat the process for as many points on the picture as you like.
GUESSES:
Control how many guesses your users have to find the right answers.
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Change the number of guesses in the field or activate Unlimited guess by clicking on the grey button.
9. Spot the difference
Users can compare two images and have to spot the differences between them.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Spot the difference.
- Insert a question into the Title field.
- Insert an image into the Original image box.
- Insert an image into the Compare image box.
- Click and drag the circular hotspots in one of the two images to the correct position. The corresponding hotspot in the other picture will move with it automatically.
- Click on Add a hotspot and repeat the process for as many points on the pictures as you like.
10. Upvote block (poll / survey)
Our upvote question block is a poll combined with a list (AKA 'listicle'). - Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Upvote.
- Type a question or text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers.
MAXIMUM PER USER:
Control how many times your users can vote.
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Type or use the up and down arrows to change the number of upvotes per user.
11. Reaction poll block (poll / survey)
This uses a slider to collect audience feedback.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Click on Reaction poll.
- Type a question or text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Insert the answers.
The preset options are strongly agree to strongly disagree.
LIKE / DISLIKE:
Go to Answer content.
Click on Like / dislike.
Now the answers range from strongly like to strongly dislike.
CREATE YOUR OWN RANGE OF ANSWERS:
Go to Answer content.
Click on Custom.
Insert your text into each Reaction text field.
The customized list is then automatically applied to all your Riddle's poll questions.
ADD / DELETE:
Add or delete options by clicking on Add level or Delete level.
12. Swiper (poll / survey)
Your audience can select their preference by choosing between two pictures.
- Click on ADD A QUESTION BLOCK.
- Type a question or text into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- Enter text into the Dislike title box and Like title box (optional).
CHANGE THE DISLIKE / LIKE BUTTONS:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Click on the arrow next to Button type and choose an option from the dropdown menu.
For each of the four options, click on the buttons in the Riddle on the left to change the emoji, picture, or text.
CUSTOMIZE THE BUTTON / ICON COLORS:
Go to the options icon on the right of Answer Content.
Click on the arrow next to Button / Icon Dislike / Like colors and select or enter a color.
13. Cover or start page
This is the first thing your audience will see before starting the Riddle. This is a title / freestyle block by default.
- Type a title into the Title field.
- Add an image by clicking on Add image, GIF, or video/audio file.
- If you prefer your audience to get straight to their Riddle, you can delete the cover page by clicking on the three dots under the Cover title banner on the left and clicking on Delete.
