Throughout this privacy statement, the term "personal data" refers to all information collected that is related to your person. If you are a Riddle customer, this information is specifically your contact data (including your contact details such as full name, e-mail address and/or Facebook/Twitter user ID and your IP address), your billing information and data for communicating with you ("Personal Data").
Should you come into contact with Riddle's services (for example - by responding to a quiz created using our software) we hereby confirm that no personal data about you are collected, stored or processed. The data we collect are merely "aggregated data". This means data that is statistically analyzed to see, for example, how often a particular question has been answered with a certain answer. In doing so, Riddle deliberately does not collect any data as to which response came from which particular user. The services we offer use only anonymous data - so we cannot draw any individual conclusions about you.
2. Responsible authority
The responsible authority for the processing of your personal data is:
Riddle Technologies AG

3. Purposes of processing and recipients
3.1 Contract processing
Riddle uses personal data to fulfill our contract with you. This includes, among other things, billing of services you purchase from Riddle, sending invoices and payment reminders (as needed), as well as communications with you. We also transmit your personal data to third parties (e.g. shipping service providers, collection service providers, payment service providers) for the fulfilment of the contract, i.e. for the purpose of providing our services, billing, processing of payment and the sending of letters. The legal basis for the processing and provision of your personal data is therefore the processing for contract implementation and fulfillment. Without these we cannot conclude and process the contract. For billing purposes, we use the services of Chargebee Inc. For direct communication with you, we use the chat box integrated on our website, which is provided by Intercom Inc. For more information about Chargebee and Intercom, see section 3.5. "Other recipients".
3.2 Advertising and customized offers using customer data analysis
Riddle will also supplement your personal data with acquired or publicly available socio-demographic data for internal data analysis in order to provide you a customized approach with tailor-made offers. Data analysis is also done to improve and develop intelligent and innovative services and products through Riddle. During this data analysis, the processing of your data will take place anonymously. If anonymous processing is not possible or not warranted for objective reasons, we will process it in a pseudonymized form. Riddle and its partners have a legitimate interest to provide you with customized products and to improve services and products. Riddle will only process your data in this manner when there is a legitimate interest in it, provided that it does not outweigh your legitimate interest (balance of interests). Legal basis is a legitimate interest. Other than by mail, Riddle will only advertise to you if you have given your specific consent or if we can rely on a legal justification. Partners of Riddle may offer you their own products and services upon request if you have agreed in advance. Riddle will make your data anonymous or, to the extent that it is not anonymous, in a pseudonymized way to its partners so that the partners can gain insights into their sold products and services and, if necessary, use these findings in a target group-oriented approach. The legal basis for processing is a balance of interests. Our legitimate interest and the legitimate interest of our partners is to improve products and services and to help focus placement of advertising material through insights about target audiences.
3.3 Market and opinion research
Riddle has a legitimate interest in submitting your personal information to market research and opinion research organizations in order to conduct these surveys. The market and opinion research companies operate on behalf of Riddle. These surveys provide us with an overview of the transparency and quality of our products, services and communication, and can tailor them to our customers. Market and opinion research carried out by means other than by mail will only be carried out if you have given us your separate consent or if we can rely on a legal justification.
3.4 Credit check
Riddle is entitled to obtain your credit report once you sign up for a paid subscription. For this purpose, Riddle transmits your name, your address and date of birth to Schufa Holding AG, Kormoranweg 5, 65201 Wiesbaden, Germany or to Creditreform Boniversum GmbH, Hellersbergstr. 11, 41460 Neuss, Germany. In the event your credit rating discloses negative information, Riddle can decline a contractual relationship with you. The legal basis for processing is a balance of interests. Our legitimate interest lies in assessing your credit rating and reducing the risk of payment default.
3.5 Other recipients and purposes
Riddle has each of the aforementioned processes and services performed by carefully selected and mandated service providers (especially IT) located outside the EU/EEA (third country). In these cases, a transfer of data to a third country takes place. With the service providers, data protection agreements in accordance with the legal requirements for establishing an adequate level of data protection are contractually stipulated.
