Getting started

What is Riddle, and how does it work?

Riddle is a no-code platform for creating interactive content: quizzes, polls, surveys, personality tests, predictors, and minigames. You build in a drag-and-drop editor, embed the result on your own website or app (or share it by link), and Riddle collects the leads, answers, and analytics for you.

What types of interactive content can I create?

35+ formats: quizzes, personality tests, polls and surveys, forms, predictors, leaderboards, minigames like crosswords, sudoku, and spin-to-win wheels, listicles, and more. See the full overview at interactive content.

Do I need any technical or design skills?

No. Riddle is built for marketers, editors, and educators, not developers. The visual builder needs no code, templates give you a styled starting point, and the AI Quiz Maker can draft a complete quiz from a topic or article URL in seconds.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial: all features unlocked, no credit card required.

What kind of companies use Riddle?

Publishers such as the BBC, CNN, SRF, Den of Geek, and Immediate Media; sports organizations such as Manchester City, the Chicago Bulls, and the Fiesta Bowl; brands such as Goodreads (Amazon) and Stage Entertainment; and non-profits such as Which? and Simple Politics.

How is Riddle different from other quiz makers?

Four things together: unlimited plans (unlimited content, views, and leads, so no surprise costs for a viral quiz), full white-label branding on every plan, 100% GDPR compliance with EU hosting, and personal support from real team members.

Building content

Are there templates to get started quickly?

Yes. Riddle offers a library of pre-built templates for common use cases. Browse the template gallery and customize any of them to your brand.

Can I customize the look and feel of my content?

Fully. Every Riddle is white-label: set your colors, fonts, and logo, or go deeper with custom CSS. Branded templates let you save your look once and reuse it for every new piece of content.

Does Riddle support branching logic and custom scoring?

Yes. You can branch the path based on each answer, set custom scoring, use pass marks with dynamic pass/fail results, and build personalized outcomes, for example in product recommendation quizzes.

Can I add images, video, or audio to questions?

Yes. Questions and answers can contain images, GIFs, video, and audio, and answer options can be images instead of text.

How many questions make a good quiz?

6–8 questions with 3–4 answer options is the sweet spot: a quiz people finish in under three minutes. Committed audiences take more: the Chicago Bulls ran a 30-question “World’s Hardest Chicago Bulls Quiz” with great results.

Can I upload quiz questions from a spreadsheet?

Yes. The question bank lets you upload questions as a spreadsheet and pull random sets by category and difficulty, ideal for daily quizzes and recurring formats.

Does Riddle content work on mobile?

Yes. All Riddle content is fully responsive and mobile-optimized by default, with no extra setup needed.

Embedding & sharing

Can I embed Riddle content on my website or app?

Yes. Copy the embed code and paste it into your site the same way you embed a YouTube video. It works with any CMS or HTML page, via iframe or JavaScript embed.

Does Riddle work with WordPress?

Yes. There is a dedicated WordPress plugin for one-click publishing into your posts and pages.

Can I share content without a website?

Yes. Every Riddle can be shared as a standalone link or QR code, perfect for social media, newsletters, print campaigns, or an LMS that doesn't allow embed code.

On how many domains can I embed my content?

The Pro plan includes embedding on up to 3 domains, and extra domains can be added to any plan as a monthly add-on. See pricing for details.

Leads, data & integrations

How do I collect leads with a quiz?

Add a lead form at the moment of highest engagement, typically right before the results. Because people want their result, opt-in rates are far higher than on static forms: a recent Riddle experiment achieved a 43% lead opt-in rate.

Which integrations does Riddle offer?

Direct connectors for Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Brevo, and Google Sheets, plus Zapier (5,000+ tools) and webhooks for custom setups. Every lead and answer can flow straight into your stack. See all integrations.

Does Riddle support double opt-in?

Yes. Double opt-in confirmation works with the built-in lead forms and with connected tools like Mailchimp, ActiveCampaign, and AWeber, keeping your list clean and compliant.

What analytics do I get?

Built-in funnel analytics: starts, completion rates, per-question stats, and leads, with export options. Business plans add Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and Matomo tracking; Enterprise adds a Looker Studio connector.

Does Riddle offer an API for developers?

Yes. The Riddle API lets you programmatically create, update, and manage content, and retrieve analytics and lead data. Business plans include the Stats and Builder APIs plus the JavaScript Data Layer.

Pricing & plans

How much does Riddle cost?

Pro is €129 per month (€119 with annual billing), Business €399 (€349 annually), and Enterprise €799 (€749 annually). Every plan includes unlimited content, unlimited views, and unlimited leads. Full details on the pricing page.

What is the difference between the plans?

Pro covers the essentials: all formats, unlimited content and leads, white-label branding, and embedding on up to 3 domains. Business adds custom CSS and fonts, advanced tracking (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Matomo), the Stats and Builder APIs, video ads, and 5 user seats. Enterprise adds custom user roles, season-wide leaderboards, a Looker Studio connector, custom contracts and DPAs, and hands-on design help.

Are there limits on content creation or leads?

No. All plans include unlimited content, unlimited views, and unlimited leads. The only technical limit is on concurrent users, set high enough that 98.4% of customers never reach it.

Can I add extra users or domains?

Yes. Extra user seats and extra embed domains are available as monthly add-ons on any plan. Current rates are on the pricing page.

Do non-profits get a discount?

Yes. Registered non-profit organizations get 20% off all purchases. Contact support via chat or email for your coupon code.

Can I cancel anytime? Does my plan auto-renew?

Plans renew automatically for the period you selected, and you can cancel anytime. There are no long-term contracts, and Riddle offers a money-back guarantee.

What support is included?

Personal support from real Riddle team members via chat and email, with no outsourced call centers and no AI-only bots. Support is available on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00 CET.
