Why Riddle is standing up for the freedom of speech with Pando

< 1 min read

So why has Riddle decided to become a Pando patron? We are still a new start up quiz maker company – yet we have a number of very high profile clients. We also have LOTS of small clients: bloggers, self-published writers, teachers, fan club moderators, niche magazines – the list is endless.

We all love the big tech companies that are bringing us innovative products – some of which we use every day – but this doesn’t mean that big companies should be able behave differently to the rest of us.

This is why we jumped at the chance to become a Pando Patron.

Pando is an online publication with a reputation of hard-hitting news stories in technology, start up companies and the Silicon Valley. A few months ago they switched to an advert-supported model to one primarily supported by subscribers.

This confirms their status as being truly independent.

But what about people who may not have the funds to spend on a subscription?

This is where Pando Patrons come in. Patrons buy an annual membership while also supporting a number of free subscriptions for other people.

“Between the upcoming unicorn collapse and tech $ in the election and SEC opening crowdfunding, we need independent tech journalism more than ever.”

Pando founder Sarah Lacy
