Delayed Email Automations

You’ve always been able to send emails when someone completes a Riddle. Now you can trigger emails based on events – the first event we implemented is when a prediction result is entered.

This is perfect for raffles, predictions, and competitions: set up your email once, and let Riddle send the right message to winners and losers automatically when the winner was picked.

Automatic Winner Picking at a Scheduled Time

No more manually picking winners at a specific time. You can now schedule exactly when winners should be drawn – Riddle handles the rest, including triggering any connected email automations.

Combine this with delayed emails for a fully hands-off competition workflow: create your raffle, set your deadline, schedule the draw, and let the emails fly. No need to do multiple steps anymore, everything is one workflow.

Pro tip: Create a template with everything pre-configured to be even faster!

Other Improvements

  • Crossword RTL support – Crosswords now fully support right-to-left languages like Arabic and Hebrew, opening up Riddle to a whole new audience.
  • Answer explanation API options – You can now configure answer explanations to display below the question instead of as a popup, all via API. Great for teams building quizzes programmatically.
  • Rate It analytics – Average ratings per choice are now shown directly in block stats instead of only being visible on hover over the graph line.
  • Expanded Google Fonts – Font library upgraded from ~40 to the top 100+ fonts for more design flexibility.
  • Leaderboard scoring explanation – New textbox above leaderboard preview makes it easier to explain your scoring model to participants.
  • Simplified personality results – “Results: Attributes” now always uses personality strings, making setup more intuitive.
  • “NEW” badge behavior – The badge now remembers when you’ve seen a feature and won’t keep showing up every time you open the creator.
  • Performance boost – Resolved background processes that could cause slower Riddle load times in certain scenarios.

Bugfixes

  • Quick Create permissions – Users without CREATE permission could previously access Quick Create. Now properly greyed out.
  • Back button on “one vote” Riddles – Pressing back on a played Riddle with “one vote per lead” no longer allows replaying.
  • Project template scrolling – The template list is now scrollable when there are more templates than fit on screen.
  • Analyze date range – Fixed “access denied” errors when selecting custom date ranges.
  • AI Creator – Resolved errors that occurred when generating quizzes with the AI creator.
  • YouTube embeds – Fixed console errors (“YT is not defined”) when using YouTube videos in Riddles.
  • Inactivity timer – The embed inactivity timer now properly restarts the session after expiry.
  • Form branching (radio buttons) – Branching logic for radio buttons in forms now works correctly (previously only worked with dropdowns).
  • Order It correct order – “Show Correct Order” is no longer hidden behind the answer explanation popup.
  • Media Library dark mode – Fixed invisible text, icons, and filters in dark mode on both Riddle and Qzzr.
  • Remember User autosubmit – Fixed forms submitting multiple times when websockets were disabled.
  • Email validation – Capital letters in email domains are no longer incorrectly rejected.
  • Timer expired message – No longer incorrectly shows on the result page when the quiz was submitted on time.
  • Chrome offline error – Fixed false “offline” error messages appearing in Chrome.
  • First block stats – Fixed edge case where stats showed 0 despite thousands of responses.

New Minigame: Minesweeper

Screenshot

We’re excited to introduce Minesweeper as a brand-new (or not so brand-new) minigame you can now use in Riddle.

It’s a familiar classic, designed to boost engagement, time-on-page, and competitive play. You can combine Minesweeper with other minigames, ad blocks, and use it to collect leads – just like any other Riddle block.

Riddle acquires Contentbird Convert

We’ve acquired Contentbird Convert (https://de.contentbird.io/convert), which allows us to offer campaign based formats (Prediction Games, Advent Calenard, Halloween/Easter/Valentines Day activations) alongside Riddle.

As a first step, we’ll be launching a 2026 World Cup Prediction Game. This product will be offered outside of the regular Riddle subscription and is designed as a standalone solution.

See an example: https://sales-wm2026.tippspiel.fans

Typical use cases include:

  • Internal prediction games for employees (engagement, competitions, incentives)
  • External prediction games for audiences and customers

The Prediction Game can be monetized via banners, making it especially interesting for publishers and brands looking to combine engagement with revenue.

If you’re interested about the Prediction Game, just let us know by replying to this email or writing to us on chat. We’re happy to share more information!

Leaderboard improvements

We’ve made leaderboards more flexible and lowered the friction for endusers massively. Previously, users were always required to enter their nickname and email, which then needed to be confirmed with a 2FA token.

We’ve introduced great new flexibility into the leaderboard, by not requiring either anymore!

  • Leaderboards without 2-factor-authentication
A new setting allows you to disable OTP verification entirely.
You can find the setting in the leaderboard settings under “Security / Privacy”.
For new leaderboards, this option is off by default, as we found users just use leaderboards for fun and engagement, rather than serious competitions where 2FA is necessary
  • Leaderboards without email addresses
You can now remove the email mapping if you don’t want emails to be required or displayed. This mimics and “arcade style” leaderboard, where users just had to enter their nickname.

Additionally, we made the lead handling for leaderboards easier.

You can now download all entries in one file under Leaderboard → Analyze → Download Leads. There are two possible exports that can be generated:

  • One clean export featuring only name, email
  • One export including all user data as well as a detailed breakdown of how the user’s score is put together.

Other improvements:

  • Improved lead sending to Google Sheets
    Increased stability and reliability.
  • Replaced Pixie image editor with a simple crop tool
Our old image editor was not updated anymore by it’s provider, meaning the possibility to add emojis and stickers to images in Riddle disappeared. But for you this means, faster and easier image editing and cropping

Bugfixes:

  • Fixed Video Player issues on iOS where videos didn’t play at all anymore (due to an iOS update)
  • Fixed Live Stats in Analyze not updating correctly in some cases
  • “Show correct order” button sometimes did not appear in “Order-it” blocks
  • Question Bank: chat bubble and texts no longer overlap
  • Adobe Analytics added to “Global publish settings” tracking options
  • Fixed inconsistent top/bottom padding in Riddles
  • Analyze → Leads table header no longer turns transparent while scrolling
  • Poll choices with media: percentage pill no longer overlaps content
  • Fixed multiple Video Player accessibility issues
  • Fixed results branching logic that could lead to missing assignments and -1% values after reload
