MULTI-SELECT BLOCK

Transcript:
Hello and welcome back to Riddle. In this step we’re going to create a multi-select question together, which means that your audience has a question and can select more than one option as their answer. So let’s do this in our creator. Click on add a block and select multi-select. This is the question that we created so we’re asking which of the following quotes come from the Star Wars series. So let’s copy and paste that question into the title field and add an image. And as always we’re going to put in our answer options. **Under Answer Content**nI’ve got four answer options, I’m going to copy and paste those in. Again, you can see this green tick appears next to the first option, because this is a multi-select, you can choose as many as you like to be correct.

So for example, you can see I could even make all of them correct but the two correct ones are do or don’t, and this one here, so they’re the correct ones. nnUnderneath that, I’d like to add in an answer explanation. Again, I’m going to copy and paste my explanation; put it in here. You could also have that with a title and then split it into a title and a description but I like having it all in one block so that’s fine for me. I’m going to make this bold okay good! So let’s see what it looks. Like so far, okay, great! Now, let’s look at the options for multi-select block. So, click on the options symbol again and our panel appears.

Of course, you can also edit the media and the answer explanations and the style, but we’re really going to focus on the answers here because that’s different for a multi-select question. So, again, I could make that not right wrong question if it’s an opinion rather than something that can be right or wrong, but in this case there are right and wrong answers; for the scoring I could set it up to be by answer and then perhaps give one point for this answer, perhaps also one point for this one if they’re going in the right direction, and then more points for the correct answers. I’m going to keep it as one point. Oh no, let’s make it one point per correct answer.

So I’ll change it back to ‘answer’ and keep these two zero because they’re wrong and I’m going to make this one one point and this one one point, rather than having to have both correct answers to get that point. On the other hand, what I could also do is change it to per question and change the number of answers I have to get correct to get the right message. So perhaps I only get one right, but I would get that correct message and I would get that point even if there is only one rather than two correct answers. But I would prefer it to be split up. So I’ve got one point for this answer and one point for this answer. And I need two correct answers to get the correct message.

Okay, now at the moment it’s set up so that your audience could potentially click all four answers. You can either do that or disable unlimited selections and type in how many choices they can make. So in my case, I want to tell them that it’s only two. And if they click on more than two, it will be impossible. And there’ll be a message that comes up that they’ve reached their maximum number of selections. Okay. Again, shuffling the answers is important for me so that they don’t always appear in the same order each time. And I’m going to change the answer explanation display to below the question again, like we did for the other. Answer explanations so far okay so let’s take a look at the preview here we are okay oh I did only choose one should have chosen two and I also chose the wrong two and here is our answer explanation underneath um so we’re ready to go on to our next question play around with a multi-select question there and I’ll see you in the next video for a different type of question If you have any other questions, feel free to write to us at academyatriddle. com or in our support chat on our website.
