13 Branching logic
Branching logic allows you to map and set up a logic for your questions and/or results. In this step, we:
- set up scores for the result pages
- create four result outcomes using branching logic
Transcript:
Okay, now we have our four result pages. We need to use branching logic to set up who sees which result page. So, click on configure results, and we’ve got all our questions here, one after the other right now, and then we have our four different result pages at the end. Okay, so all our questions come in order, all the different questions where it’s right or wrong. Until we come to the single select question, the last quiz question with the 12 Years a Slave movie. Now, we want to create two branches, one for someone who gets that right and one for all the the the lower scores until then and one for all the higher
scores until then so to do that click on that question and we want that to be based on the total score until that point so what I want to do is so everyone that gets up to 50 goes on this side and everyone that gets above 50 has another branch to go to and so everything is the same until that question and then you have that total score and I want to ask the same question still to both sides so I can click on command or you can click on control and to copy and paste that question click on command and then drag it over and the same with this question so I’ve got those two branches but I need four branches because not only do I want to
decipher between who has got a lower score and who’s got a higher score but also between someone who chose movie theater and home cinema so I need to do that again here so again I choose this branching type and this time it depends on the answer not on the score and there were two answers movie theater or home cinema and the same here click on that And branching type answer. And again, movie theater or home cinema. And so I need to copy the form for both as well. Command click and drag. OK, and now we’ve got four end results or four branches that lead us to these end results. Which is great. So we’ve got. Someone who’s got a lower score and chose movie theatre is here. Someone who got a lower score and chose home cinema is here. Someone who got a higher score chose movie theatre is here. Someone who got a higher score and chose home cinema is here. So we’ve got our four branches.
Hi there, welcome back to our result page branching logic section of this workshop. As you can see I’ve played through this little getting a different result this time a different score and also selecting a home cinema instead of the movie theater for that question between those two choices near the end of the quiz and so you can see here i’ve got a different sort of result page with that other picture that we created and a different button here as well, so You can play around with that, change things around. Of course, you can add even more result pages if you want more score ranges, for example, if there is another part of your website you wanted to lead to. That’s really up to you. But we’ve just got four for now to show you the capability of that branching logic. For the questions as well as for the result pages. It’s time for us to go into some riddle-wide settings now. So we had those settings for each different type of quiz question, but let’s go to some settings that apply to the whole riddle now, such as the play again button that I mentioned briefly before when we were talking about the result pages. We’ll go into the creator and go into these settings now.
