3 Create a cover page and question one
First impressions matter! In this lesson, we’ll design the opening screen of your quiz and create your first personality-driven question using Riddle’s builder. We will:
- set up the front cover using a text/media block
- add a quiz title and optional subtitle or description
- upload a visual to make your quiz more engaging
- understand the two question types: single-select and multi-select
- create your first question and add four answer options
- preview your quiz’s opening and test the user flow

Hi there, welcome back.
It’s time to set up our question blocks. By default in a personality quiz, Riddle includes a text/media block and a single-select question.
The text/media block acts as your quiz’s front cover. While optional, I recommend keeping it — this is your quiz’s first impression. It automatically includes the title you entered when creating the quiz, but you can customize it and add an engaging image.
Let’s do that now. I’ll choose an image from my media library. You can also add a short description like “Take this quiz to find out your ideal car,” but the title and start button are often enough.
Now, onto our first question.
There are two types of questions available in Riddle personality quizzes:
- Single-select (choose one answer)
- Multi-select (choose two or more)
In this quiz, we’ll use a mix of both. But our first question will be single-select.
Type your question into the title block, then add an image to go with it.
Under the answer content section, you can add multiple answer options. I’ve created four. Just click “Add answer” for each one you need.
Once that’s done, you can preview your question to see how it looks. We’ve got a strong visual, a clear question, and four options — perfect.
Now it’s your turn. Try building your first question the same way. In the next video, we’ll go through setting up your remaining questions.
