5 Scoring question one
Scoring is what transforms a simple quiz into a true personality test. In this lesson, you’ll learn how to assign points to each answer option and connect them to your quiz personalities in a balanced, strategic way. We will:
- access the scoring panel for a question inside the Riddle Creator
- use arrows or manual input to assign points per answer
- distribute scores to match the relevance of each personality
- explore how to give each personality equal chances of being the outcome

Hi there. It’s time for us to map our questions to our personalities via scoring. The way you do that is for each question — for example, our first question here — scroll down and click on “Edit scoring”.
Now here you can see on the left-hand side we have all the answer options for that question, and along the top you have all the labels for our personalities.
You can use the up and down arrows now or type in numbers for each score. So for example, if someone answers “Safety and reliability” for what’s most important to them, then I would say Practical Commuter gets quite a lot of points. Maybe a bit for Performance Enthusiast, maybe Eco-Friendly Driver, maybe one for Comfort Driven Cruiser — but most of the points, maybe I’ll up them even more, should go to Practical Commuter.
Now “Comfort and luxury” — definitely up the points there. Not really for Eco-Friendly. Performance Enthusiast — yes, let’s also up them there. And let’s leave them at zero there.
“Efficiency and practicality” — that’s going to be very high for Eco-Friendly and Practical Commuter. Maybe one or a couple of points for those there.
And finally “Speed and performance” — definitely up the points for Performance Enthusiast. Eco-Friendly Driver we’ll leave at zero. Comfort Driven — perhaps one or two. Actually, I want to up the points here more, maybe reduce there. Because what I’m looking at now is: I’ve got a basic foundation, but I want to make sure that I’ve got approximately the same amount of points for each personality in total.
So they’re around about the same mark, but I’d like to make them a little closer. So perhaps I’ll take away a point here or here, up that one here, and then increase the points here, and maybe here and here.
Okay, and now in fact we’ve got 12 for each personality. That evens out the chances — if we keep things even throughout the questions, it means that the different personalities have equal chances of being the winning result.
And so this is what you can do now for every single question that you want to give points for and map to a personality. You can use what we’ve done here, but you can also use your own point system — whatever you think is right for this car quiz or the quiz that you’re working on.
Try it out, and then we’ll go through the points for the other questions in the next video.
