Find out which celebrity would be your best road trip co-pilot
My girl wants to party all the time, party all the time, party all the time … and apparently so do you! Seems you and the host of SiriusXM Stars’ Dirty, Sexy, Funny are destined to be serious road trip BFFs not just because of your shared love of ‘80s music – Jenny picked Cruel Summer by Bananarama as her must-have car tune – but also because you know that hitting the road is about the journey and not the destination (well, as long as the journey somehow includes Las Vegas). While your snacks may be surprisingly healthy (Jenny eats gluten free and mostly Vegan), that will just ensure you’ll look rockin’ in your swimsuits and short shorts!
Got your head in the clouds? Even higher? No wonder you and Neil deGrasse Tyson would make perfect road-trip partners. This charming astrophysicist will probably travel with his telescope and insist you do some serious stargazing along the way. But he’ll also keep you grounded thanks to his penchant for playing absolutely anything and everything by Buddy Guy while you traverse the miles together. A big animal lover, he also supports PETA … but we don’t know if that includes alien life forms, so beware of little green men in the backseat.
Since you clearly like your road trips high on the quirk and low on the planning, it makes sense that Weird Al would be your best celeb car buddy. Since he wrote an entire album about food, you’ll probably make lots of fast stops (hello DQ, McDs, and BK), but you’ll also see things you didn’t even know existed – like the biggest grain silo in the U.S. And expect lots of the classics on the radio. Weird Al chose the Beatles’ Everybody’s Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey as his must-have travel tune.
Traveling with this guy, well … it’s like being “Back in the Saddle Again” (yes, that Aerosmith song was his choice for must-have road trip tune). Not only is Slash a softy for wildlife preservation, but he’s also big on music education, so expect festival stops along the way. But don’t expect there to be any hard partying, those days are in Slash’s rearview mirror. He’s been sober since 2005 and music is his drug of choice now … so be sure to pack earplugs.
Hoda will not only keep you entertained on the road, she’ll also educate you with stories from her day in hardcore news. Expect to have a well-planned itinerary with regular rest stops and excellent homemade snacks. But don’t think she’s all work and no play … Hoda likes to kick up her heels, and Jake Owen’s Beachin’ is just the song to get her started.
Believe it or not, this always-traveling man actually likes a little soul; his pick for a must-have car tune was Sam Smith’s Stay with Me. Since he’s often on the road for work (catching bail busters requires some serious drive time), Dog will pack muscle building snacks for long trips (to stay fit for criminal pursuit) and probably won’t do much sightseeing. However, he’ll happily escort you on his motorcycle and won’t complain if you make a wrong turn (he believes in second chances whether you’re a convicted criminal or just a bad driver).
