What Kind of Bee are YOU?
Within the hive there are over 8 different honeybee roles. Answer these 10 questions to see which one you are!
The Queen Bee
The strength of the queen dictates the strength of the hive. She puts out a pheromone that lets everyone know the hive is alive and well. They rub against her thousands of times a day to spread her special pheromone throughout the hive. She lays all of the eggs and can even decide whether or not she's going to make a male (drone) or female (worker) bee.
In our world, the Queen Bee is the person everyone comes to for answers and advice. They are wise and experienced. They are masters of their craft and do not shy away from the spotlight. They are powerful and critically important. They are legends who leave an indelible mark on society.
The Queen's Attendant
In bee culture, the queen has multiple attendants that groom and feed her, keeping her happy and healthy.
In human culture, this is someone who loves to make others feel beautiful and special. They are caring, fun-loving, go-with-the-flow types who just want to have fun and enjoy life. They are happy just the way they are and hope to help others feel the same way about themselves.
Within the hive and within life there are certain personalities that just can't seem to settle for a mundane, day-to-day existence. Forager bees leave the hive every day to visit flowers up to 5 miles away from the hive in search of nectar, water, and pollen. They can take up to 10 trips per day, each trip lasting 1 hour.
Forager people have a similar lust for wander. They love to travel, discover and experience new cultures and places. They may burn out occasionally, but have an insatiable appetite for adventure. They are fun, energetic and inspiring.
Bees have to be meticulously clean to keep out potential parasites and other hazards to the hive. House bees are the hardcore cleaners that keep the hive peaceful and tidy.
For people, this personality type represents a quieter, more refined lifestyle. They prefer solitude, serenity and a consistent routine. They keep their habitat organized and spotless, and prefer you keep it that way too. They are reliable, calming, and well read.
Nurse bees are intuitive and nurturing. They know to feed the other bees highly potent antioxidant-rich honey in times of parasitic invasion to boost their immune systems and can prescribe different types of honey to other bees depending on their particular illness.
In human life, nurses are similarly intuitive and caring. They are observant and put other's needs before their own. They can sometimes forget that they must first take care of themselves in order to take the best care of others, so they are particularly fond of spas, salons and treating themselves to whatever they desire.
A rather grim title, but these bees are responsible for ridding the hive of dead bee corpses.
For humans, the undertaker represents a person who is not afraid of death, but rather embraces its inevitability and leans into it. They may be highly emotional and sensitive, but may also be thrill seekers, enjoying somewhat risky situations for a rushing reminder of life. They can come off a little morbid sometimes, but may actually have the deepest understanding of the true realities of life compared to most other personality types. They are dark and mysterious, but ultimately, enjoy life to the fullest.
This bee type has the unique skill to produce beeswax and form it into honeycomb which is where their companions, the forager bees, store their nectar. They help stabilize the hive using nature's most precise building shape, the hexagon.
In human life, builders are those who love to create something lasting. They build structures both practical and awe inspiring which require both physical and mental fortitude. They are steady, innovative, and extremely hard working.
In the hive the guard bees risk their lives to protect the hive. When a guard bee is forced to sting an intruder, they die in the process. They give their life in the line of duty for the greater good.
In human culture, the guard archetype is embodied by those who serve to protect what they love. They are completely selfless and courageous. They are mentally and physically tough as nails and bring great honor to their loved ones and nations.
