You can now run it in Image mode or Text mode, depending on whether you want players guessing from a picture or from words.

Hints are the big upgrade. They’re now merged into one clean flow where you can lock and unlock hints and reorder them with simple drag & drop, so you control exactly what your audience sees and when. After guessing, players use the new self-scoring labels to mark how they did, and there are several new options to fine-tune the experience. The laggy moments and long response times that some of you reported are gone – embeds now load and react noticeably quicker across the board.

Publish Actions for the Question Bank

Question Banks just got easier to actually use. Until now, after building a question bank you had to navigate over to a Riddle, edit it, and manually link the bank in. Small friction, but enough to slow things down when you’re spinning up multiple quizzes.

With the new publish modal, the moment you finish a Question Bank, Riddle asks where you want it: pick an existing Riddle from the list, or create a brand new one in the same flow. Your bank is wired up immediately. Great if you maintain a central pool of questions (e.g. a weekly trivia, a product knowledge quiz, an evergreen question library) and regularly need to plug it into fresh Riddles.

New Homepage Hero — and Why We Changed It

Next time you log in to Riddle, you’ll see the new homepage hero section on riddle.com.

The reason for the refresh: AI is reshaping how people find content. Search traffic is shifting, organic reach is harder to win, and one-time visitors don’t stick around the way they used to. That’s exactly the problem Riddle solves — embeddable quizzes, polls, minigames, and interactive content that turn passing readers into daily active users who return, engage, and drive revenue.

The old hero didn’t put that promise front and center. The new one does. It speaks directly to the challenges publishers and content teams are dealing with right now, and shows — with real product visuals — how Riddle helps you build daily active audiences even as the rest of the web fragments.

If you ever send prospects, colleagues, or your boss to riddle.com to explain what we do, the new homepage should make that conversation a lot shorter.

Other Improvements

This/That Poll: Smoother embed animations, more default choices in the Creator, and data is now properly forwarded via webhook

New embed setting “Allow full-screen videos”: Some browsers used to block full-screen video playback inside embeds – toggle this on and that restriction is gone

TypeRush: Better default template when you “Create from file”

Stats/Leads delay warning: If our stats or leads queue is backed up, you’ll now see a warning in ANALYZE so you’re not left wondering where your data is

Bugfixes

Riddle emails: Some notification emails weren’t rendering at all for certain customers – we’ve shipped a fix

Stat transfer: When a Riddle is transferred between accounts, its stats now travel with it

Homepage: Several accessibility and performance bugfixes on riddle.com

Wheel of Fortune: Mute icon on Android is fixed

Embed Placeholder: Now shows a proper “no tags created” message when there are no tags

Quiz: Skipped questions are no longer incorrectly “locked” when navigating with the back button (no more unknown error)

Type-the-Answer: Fixed empty/missing entries in Answered Blocks

Predictor: Alt text is now saved correctly

Magic Link: Resolved login issues where users couldn’t log in seamlessly

Lead export: Empty form fields now correctly show “(n/a)” instead of “1”

Quick Create: Fixed scrolling on the default templates in the CREATE screen

Minigames: Correct skip events are now sent for all minigame blocks

Security: Patched security issues in frontend packages

March 17th, 2026

New Poll Block: Tier List

S-Tier, A-Tier, F-Tier — you’ve seen them everywhere on TikTok, YouTube, and X. You can combine Minesweeper with other minigames, ad blocks, and use it to collect leads – just like any other Riddle block.

Play an example: https://www.riddle.com/view/vD2lx6Ev

Riddle acquires Contentbird Convert

We’ve acquired Contentbird Convert (https://de.contentbird.io/convert), which allows us to offer campaign based formats (Prediction Games, Advent Calenard, Halloween/Easter/Valentines Day activations) alongside Riddle.

As a first step, we’ll be launching a 2026 World Cup Prediction Game. This product will be offered outside of the regular Riddle subscription and is designed as a standalone solution.

See an example: https://sales-wm2026.tippspiel.fans

Typical use cases include:

Internal prediction games for employees (engagement, competitions, incentives)

External prediction games for audiences and customers

The Prediction Game can be monetized via banners, making it especially interesting for publishers and brands looking to combine engagement with revenue.

If you’re interested about the Prediction Game, just let us know by replying to this email or writing to us on chat. We’re happy to share more information!

Leaderboard improvements

We’ve made leaderboards more flexible and lowered the friction for endusers massively. Previously, users were always required to enter their nickname and email, which then needed to be confirmed with a 2FA token.

We’ve introduced great new flexibility into the leaderboard, by not requiring either anymore!

Leaderboards without 2-factor-authentication
A new setting allows you to disable OTP verification entirely.
You can find the setting in the leaderboard settings under “Security / Privacy”.
For new leaderboards, this option is off by default, as we found users just use leaderboards for fun and engagement, rather than serious competitions where 2FA is necessary

Leaderboards without email addresses
You can now remove the email mapping if you don’t want emails to be required or displayed. This mimics and “arcade style” leaderboard, where users just had to enter their nickname.

Additionally, we made the lead handling for leaderboards easier.

You can now download all entries in one file under Leaderboard → Analyze → Download Leads. There are two possible exports that can be generated:

One clean export featuring only name, email

One export including all user data as well as a detailed breakdown of how the user’s score is put together.

Other improvements:

Improved lead sending to Google Sheets
Increased stability and reliability.

Replaced Pixie image editor with a simple crop tool
Our old image editor was not updated anymore by it’s provider, meaning the possibility to add emojis and stickers to images in Riddle disappeared.
