2 Title page and question

In this video we start building the Riddle. We:

• create a title page which the audience see before they start the quiz
• build the first question for this quiz

Hi there, welcome back to Riddle. In this step we’re going to start our quiz with this title page and we’ll do the first question together. So let’s go into our creator. I’ve set up a folder called ‘competitions’ and within that we want to create a riddle. It’s a quiz, click on ‘start from scratch’. Our title is ‘famous sports history moments.’ Click on ‘continue’. and by default, we have a title page with this text media block and also a single select block in there, so let’s complete those. It takes the title directly into this title field as well, so we can leave that in there; I want to center it; I want to put the instructions in the description, center that too; and I want to add an image, I’m going to use Pexels; And I’d like this.

OK, click on preview and we’ve got that first page set up for your participants. Now let’s make the first question. So our first question is this one here. As I said, by default, you already have a single select question in a quiz, so we can use that there. Our question is: about FIFA 2014; and under answer content, you can put in four answer options, so click on add an answer twice, so that we’ve got four options, okay; and I’d like an image, so click on add image again, I’m going to use Pexels again, and I’ll type in soccer field; Let’s use this one. Okay, again, let’s preview. Great, and I can choose only one answer because it’s select one.

And this sort of question, single select question, is the block type for every question that we’ve got in our quiz that we created here. So you can see, for example, the next question here. So, using either the document below this video to copy and paste the questions and answers, or you can look at this original, or you can write your own questions. Do the same now for all the other questions. So each time you want to add in a single select question, click on add a block and choose single select. And then you can repeat the steps that we just did for that first question there. And then in the next video, we’ll check through that together.
