11 Upvote (question 10)

An upvote question is where your audience can vote for a certain number of choices from a list of options.

In this step, we:

• add an upvote block to the poll
• go through all the options for an upvote block

Hi there, welcome back to Riddle. In this clip, we’re going to look at an upvote block, which is where your audience can select a certain amount of choices for a given topic or question. I’ll show you our original. So this was our upvote about canteen food and your employees can vote for their favorite and then your audience can also see which choice is the most popular. So let’s go into our creator and make this block. As always, click on add a block and this time select upvote. Here we’re going to write our question.

In the media field, I’m going to enter my or upload my picture, which was the pizza picture. Okay, and under answer content, I need to click on add an answer a few more times. I can’t remember how many answers we had. One, two, three, four, five, six. And then you can put them in there.

I can’t remember what else we had. Fish and curry. Okay, let’s look at the preview. Looking good. Okay. And now let’s have a look at the options for an upvote block. So I’ve clicked on the options icon already. And okay, we’ve got the media. I want it to be compulsory. They have to choose something. Then what I could do is select or enable show answer media. And this means that, for example, for this option pizza, I can click on that. media icon and let’s use Pexels for example and now I’m going to look up a picture of a pizza okay select the photo you want and here it is in our riddle same for pasta for example and then I could choose a picture and then looking at the preview As well as, or instead of, I could also leave this answer field blank, you then have a picture for each answer option.

So it’s up to you how you want to do it, whether it should be text only or with images. And yes, I would just disable the show answer media again if I don’t want to show them. Okay. What it also means, just as a side note, is, for example, if I have a copy of this riddle, or if I make a copy of this riddle, and in one of them I don’t want to show the images and the other one I do, I don’t have to delete all the images. I could have them in here, but just hide them. And then they don’t appear. So then you are able to duplicate a riddle without having to do the extra work.

Um of deleting or adding in images, you can just show or enable or disable show answer media here okay what I could also add is a description so um I don’t know typing in the type of pizza that was on offer for example or maybe the date when that was there, that’s up to you. Okay, and what’s really important here is the number of upvotes per user. By default, it’s one, so they can only vote for one. Perhaps you say, okay, they can vote for two, and then you can use the arrows here or type in your number here. So I’m going to leave it at one. Okay, so if I preview that and then click on pizza, for example, and then click on another one, it doesn’t allow me to select both. I can only select and vote for one.
