LIKERT BLOCK

Transcript:
Hi there, welcome back to Riddle! It’s time for a Likert scale or matrix block. So in our original Riddle it looked like this: In a block like this you have statements or questions down one side and along the other side or along the top here you have different varying degrees of agreement from strongly disagree to strongly agree, for example; and this allows you to target several different issues or questions in the same block. Let’s go into the creator and create one like this. Click on add a block and choose like it or matrix and our question here let’s just copy and paste that into our title field and Under answer content, by default, you have these different variations of sentiment or agreement. And you can edit each of these if you wanted to by just typing in different text.

But by default, they’re here, so you can leave them as they are. Let’s try it with a new one. So I’ve clicked on add a scale item and couldn’t agree more, for example. And I’ll just show you what that looks like in the preview. So you’ve got all these different variants here, and I can now show you how to delete that one again. So I would hover over it, click on delete, and now that’s gone again. Okay, so that’s our scale. Now, down this axis, let’s add our questions. So, we had, for example, this position in the company is right for me. And to repeat this for other questions, I just click on add question each time. So, question two. Question three and question four. All right.

And I can also move these around by clicking on the six dots on the left, clicking and dragging and dropping it. So up and down. If I want to delete one, I can click on the three dots that are horizontally next to on the left of the question or the statement. And I can click on delete there. Okay. Let’s look at the preview again. See how it’s looking. Okay. Excellent. And now we’ll look at some settings for this block. As always, click on the options icon and now it appears here. Oh, media, I’ve forgotten the media. I’d like to add that. So click on add image. I’m using your media. And I’d like this one. Okay, so we’ve got our media there and I want it to be

necessary for them to answer it so I’m leaving this required okay then the answers I only want them to be able to select one sentiment so I don’t want them to be able to I don’t want them to be able to say strongly agree and agree therefore this is also enabled by default only one choice per question okay so I’m happy with that What I could also do is enable custom scale values. So by default, you’ve got the numbers running from one to five, and perhaps you just want to keep it that way to allow you to analyze these answers following that Likert system. But perhaps you want it back to front, for example, and start at five, or perhaps you do want a completely different sort of system.

And here you can then adjust those numbers. I don’t want to shuffle the questions. I want to keep them in that order. And I could also add an NA option by enabling NA option. And that means if someone doesn’t feel like they can use one of the sentiments on this scale, they can click on NA instead. So that would look like this. And I could select ‘NA’ instead of something else on the scale. Okay, so I’ll keep that enabled. I also recommend leaving this enabled, this is enabled by default, which means that it stacks this scale on a small screen and this is obviously especially important if you’re using mobile or you know that your audience are going to be using a mobile a lot for this type of poll. And then it means they don’t have to scroll all the time, or they don’t have to scroll left and right, but they can scroll up and down more easily. That was our Likert or matrix block. In our next video, we’ll look at another type of block. For now, as always, send us any questions you have to academyatriddle. com or on our support chat on our website, and I’ll see you in the next clip. Thank you very much.
